Do note that Black Sheep (White Light) may collect additional information, including—but not limited to—your browser type, operating system, Internet Protocol (IP) address, domain name from which you access the Site and service provider, as well as information about your browsing behavior, such as the date and time you visited the Site, the areas or pages of the Site that you visit, the amount of time you spend viewing the Site, the number of times you return to the Site and other Site usage data.

Cookies, and Web Beacons and Other Tracking Technologies

Cookies. A cookie is a small data file that sites often store on your hard drive when you visit the Site. Black Sheep (White Light) may place cookies on your computer to collect information about your visit to the Site and to improve Site functionality, evaluate and improve the user experience and the convenience of the Site. For example, we (or our service providers) may place cookies on your computer to understand which pages of the Site you’ve visited (including pages most read, time spent, search terms and other engagement data), determine which areas and features of our Site are most popular, learn whether search engine referral is working effectively, provide unique user identification to recognize you when you return, preserve the contents of your shopping bag between your visits, obtain product browsing and purchasing history, and provide us and our services providers with information that we will use to personalize future visits to our Site in accordance with your preferences and interests. If you have signed up for an account with us, these cookies may also be necessary to access your account information.

We may use a third party such as Google Analytics to help us gather and analyze this information. For more information or to opt-out, see “How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps” and “Google Analytics and Privacy”.

You can set your browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent, but if you turn off cookies or refuse them, you may not be able to take full advantage of the Site’s features, such as making a purchase on the Site or accessing your registered user account information.

Tracer Tags & Web Beacons. A web beacon, also known as a clear GIF or pixel tag, is an invisible tag placed on certain pages of our Site or a third-party site where we may advertise, but not on your computer. When you access these pages, web beacons generate a generic notice of that visit. They usually work in conjunction with cookies, registering when a particular computer visits a particular page. If you turn off cookies, the web beacon will simply detect an anonymous site visit. Web beacons may also be used to report certain information (but not your name, address, email address, telephone number or payment information) about your visits to our Site and other sites that advertise and feature links to our Site, in order to measure the effectiveness of our advertisements. Cookies or web beacons may also be used to let us know if you have opened an email from us. This information allows us to make improvements and updates to enhance your experience.

Interest-Based Advertising

We work with third-parties such as ad networks and other advertising companies that use their own tracking technologies (including cookies and pixel tags) on our Site and other websites in order to provide you with tailored advertisements on our behalf across the Internet. This is a common marketing practice referred to as interest-based or online behavioural advertising. These companies may collect information about your activity on our Site and third-party websites (such as web pages you visit and your interaction with our advertising and other communications) and use this information to make predictions about your preferences, develop personalized content and deliver ads that are more relevant to you on third party websites. This information may also be used to evaluate our online advertising campaigns.

For more information about interest-based advertising on your desktop or mobile browser and to understand your options, including how you can opt-out of receiving behavioural ads from third-party advertising companies participating in the DAAC, please visit the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada website at http://youradchoices.ca/choices.

Please note that even if you opt-out of interest-based advertising by a third party, these tracking technologies may still collect data for other purposes including analytics and you will still see ads from us, but the ads will not be targeted based on behavioural information about you and may therefore be less relevant to you and your interests.

To successfully opt-out, you must have cookies enabled in your web browser. Please see your browser’s instructions for information on cookies and how to enable them. Your opt-out only applies to the web browser you use so you must opt-out of each web browser on each device that you use. Once you opt out, if you delete your browser’s saved cookies, you may need to opt-out again.

Custom Audience. We may also use services provided by third-party platforms (such as social networking and other websites) to serve targeted advertisements on such platforms to you or others, and we may provide a hashed version of your email address or other information to the platform provider for such purposes. To opt-out of the use of your information for such purposes, please info@blacksheepwhitelight.com.

For example, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to protect the security of your online order information. While we make every effort to help ensure the integrity and security of our network and systems, we cannot guarantee our security measures. We have personal-information retention processes designed to retain personal information of our customers no longer than necessary for the purposes stated above or to otherwise meet legal requirements.
