Unique "I Am Not White" Welsh Sheepskin
"I Am Not White" Welsh Sheepskin Throws
And that's exactly the point.
These Welsh sheepskins don't have the bold spots and speckles our Welsh collection is known for. Instead, they come in soft, naturally occurring shades of ivory, cream and off-white—each with its own subtle character.
Because natural white and white are not the same thing.
In nature, sheep aren't perfectly white. Their wool carries warmth, variation and depth—think creamy ivory, soft ecru and gentle off-white rather than bright, artificial white.
All of our Welsh sheepskins are minimally processed and completely dye-free. We use only very gentle bleaching when necessary to carefully clean and brighten the natural wool without turning it into something it isn't.
Soft. Warm. Creamy. A little imperfect. May have minimal light beige/brown spots.
You may not get the exact sheepskin pictured, but it’ll be just as beautiful and in a same style and color.
If you’d like to choose your specific piece, simply reach out after you place an order and we’ll be happy to assist you personally. Otherwise, you can leave it to us and be delightfully surprised.
Please note:
All our Welsh sheepskins are as natural as they can be, therefore natural sheepskin smell (of leather and wool) can be present. This smell will disappear with time.
PLEASE DO NOT PLACE SHEEPSKINS ON DIRECT SUNLIGHT OR BY BRIGHT WINDOWS - IT WILL RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT COLOUR CHANGE!
PLEASE NOTE: AS A NATURAL PRODUCT SHEEPSKIN MAY TRANSFER FIBERS AND DYES TO SOFT FABRIC/LEATHER FURNITURE.
Shake and/or vacuum occasionally to remove dust and debris. In the event of a spill or stain, mix wool-specific detergent with warm water to produce foam. Using foam only (never soak or submerge sheepskin in water – it will harden the back suede), work the foam over the affected area and pat dry with a clean cloth. Shake and leave to dry, finish with a combing.

The story behind BSWL
Founded in 2011 by Canadian architect Black Sheep (White Light) was a pioneer in bringing premium Icelandic sheepskins to North America.
What started with Icelandic sheepskins has grown into a carefully curated collection of some of the world's most beautiful natural hides.
In 2023, Black Sheep (White Light) entered a new chapter.
Drawn to individuality we embraced the opportunity to continue the journey and build upon the foundation that had already been created.
We have introduced rare and remarkable breeds such as Gotland and Welsh sheepskins, our distinctive Mélange Collection, cowhides and our ever-evolving One-of-a-Kind Collection—the heart of what we do.
More than décor, our collections are stories of heritage, craftsmanship, and nature's artistry.
Continuing the journey,
Ksenia & Evgeny
