Gotland Sheepskin Chair Pads

The Gotland sheep of Sweden are one of the rarest breeds in the world, known for their distinctive tight curls and beautiful natural shades of grey.

And finding Gotland sheepskin chair pads in North America? Good luck. Until now, they simply weren’t something you could easily find here.

We went to great lengths to change that.

Gotland sheepskins are rare and expensive, and not every tannery is willing to cut them into smaller pieces. It took us nearly a year of working closely with our partner tannery in Sweden to develop these chair pads β€” made exclusively for Black Sheep White Light.

Each pad is made from 100% genuine Gotland sheepskin, showcasing the breed's signature curls and naturally varied grey tones. No two are exactly alike, and every piece has its own character.

We also made them larger than our Icelandic chair pads β€” 16" Γ— 16" β€” for fuller coverage. Gotland wool has been shorn to approximately 1.5", so the larger size gives you more of that beautiful curly sheepskin beneath you while creating a generous, comfortable fit on most chairs.

The result is something that feels both special and wonderfully practical: a natural layer of softness and texture for your dining chair, desk chair, reading nook, or favorite seat.

And because these are made from such rare sheepskins, quantities are limited.

Rare Gotland sheepskin. Made in Sweden. Exclusively available at Black Sheep White Light in North America.

A little piece of Gotland, right where you sit.

Shake and/or vacuum occasionally to remove dust and debris. In the event of a spill or stain, mix wool-specific detergent with warm water to produce foam. Using foam only (never soak or submerge sheepskin in water – it will harden the back suede), work the foam over the affected area and pat dry with a clean cloth. Shake and leave to dry, finish with a combing.
